Arriving on a flying carpet of jammed waves and rippling rhythms, Stand On Zanzibar sets out construction of a loose, magenta tinged narrative. Each track playing out like chapters plucked from a long-lost sci-fi reel. Surface scratched and burnt out, hurtling low through amber canyons - 3 suns setting on an unending pink dusk.

If the subterranean dub of Nuclear Disaster and Ring Around The Sun reflect crushing contemporary fears, All Flesh Is Grass and A Private Cosmos are euphoric counterparts, glimpses of a bright retro fitted future. Elsewhere, Mission Of Gravity and Prime Number borrow heavily (and unapologetically) in their simplicity from early Detroit acid. Somewhere in the universe is a club lurking through the night to this minimal soundtrack.

A well-rounded palette of old-meets-new fuzzy edged analogue reveals an avid hardware collector, user and abuser as it’s architect. Each track an unfolding drama of unique experimentation, underpinned with an uneasy familiarity. Drumm Chimp is comfortable working in album format, something electronic music can so often botch, misplace or disregard completely.
